Language
I was proposed to think about the concept of Language at the lesson. And the first my thought was Bible's story about Babel.
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
Bible
Due to that event, there are many Languages around the world now. Since, some of them have been developed and perfected. Some of them have died, but some were born. Each Language is individual, wonderful, and unique.
We study foreign Languages to understand people from the different parts of the earth. It opens us culture, traditions and beautiful nature from many interesting countries.
Learning language is an interesting and breathtaking process. It's a very hard work too.
But learning language gives us new impression, and makes us better and wise.
We have to remember, how many languages we know - so many times we are a man.

LOVE
Through all eternity to thee
A joyful song I'll raise,
For oh! Eternity is too short
To utter all thy praise.
Joseph Addison
Love……Love…..Love…..
It was sung, was written about this feeling many times and by famous people in different epochs. And will be…
Love is a feeling, which everyone sees own way. The passion, esteeming, understanding, the skill to forgive and other meanings include LOVE.
In this short story I’ll try to describe, what love means for me.
It’s a beautiful feeling, when my heart is throbbing often and all my thoughts are full of dreams about the loved one. But, in order to save LOVE, I have to feel goodness, esteeming, friendship.
Love in my heart helps me to achieve the goals, to stay the best one, to present smiling to everyone and everywhere.
There are loves to parents, to domestic animals (pets), to friends, to nature in my heart.
And always it does bring happiness and goodness.
Let’s LOVE!

LOVE
Love is such a magic word and it means a lot for each of us. Love is everywhere and it can be so different. We love our relatives, friends and according to The Bible we even have to love our enemies. Love fills our hearts with warmth and makes us to be the happiest person in the world but sometimes love tears our soul into small pieces.
If to think about the result of love - so many books, films, parks, pictures and other masterpieces arose in my min. I can’t forget about children as they are the most beautiful result of love.
It’s very strange but each person loves in different ways. Love can be burning like a fire, or calm and pure like a drop of water, or ingenuous and naïve like a child. Only small part of our brain makes us feel what love is.
I think that all things we do in our life we do only because of love and so poor those people who can’t understand me. Let’s open our hearts for the brightest feeling in the world and if you had a bad experience just let it go and give yourself the chance to love again.

IF I COULD SPEND AN HOUR A DAY IN ANY PLACE, WHERE WOULD I GO?
Recently I'd go to some quiet park to hide from the city, heat, office work. I'd like to sit on a comfortable bench, to have some lunch, to drink some juice, to listen to the sounds of nature, to breathe fresh air, and dream about the sea or mountains.
It would be nice to have a talk with good people, or read a funny light book, enjoying the sunrays which penetrate the tree-leaves in the intervals between readings. :)

A friend
A friend is a person who can force you to smile when everything is going wrong in your life, who can share your bad and good mood, who can just sit nearby without a word because you don’t need it……….
To make a long story short I’d like to mention Russian proverb: “Don’t have a hundred rubles, have a hundred friends”. In such way your life will be interesting, colorful and a happy one.
And one more thing…. the most important one. You can find real friends only in the youth. So, don’t waste your time! ;)))

Women
When I chose this word “women” and thought (about its meaning for me) what that means for me, my first thought was my last dream.
Playing a fool, being free from responsibility to somebody except myself I feel I am a girl. But also I feel I am a woman loving my boy-friend whole-heartedly/ heartily or flirting with somebody to get into a cheerful mood.
But in my dream there was a very affecting scene I saw. I gave a birth to a baby. And in my dream I felt myself a real woman. Maybe I am ready to do it in the real life?
The second direction of my thoughts was men’s thoughts about women. What could you think about women or imagine females if you are a male one? Let’s guess or imagine together. Maybe something like that…
If you are a man, the women for you are your mother or sister, wife or daughter etc. Very often women are a cause for jokes at the guys’ party and a reason for toasts at the feasts. Also it can be “a driving blonde” on the road or “a rock woman” from the movie you saw when you were a teenager.
Many blouses and tights in your wardrobe, thousands of lipsticks, perfumes in your bathroom – all of those are women too. It is your sudden desire for making coffee in bed early in the morning, to get a smile and a sleepy kiss in response. It ‘s a love story with Brad Pitt on TV at the same time with a direct pickup of Football Major League.
I am sure that men can never imagine one thing, the world without us, WOMEN.

Women concept
At the lesson I spoke about money and this concept is not very interesting to write about again as this topic is very banal. Julia V. was sitting next to me at the lesson and proposed me to interchange with concepts. At first I refused to do it but then I thought what I would say if I chose this concept. Julia’s concept was “women”.
In my mind there arose Bob Marley’s song “No women – no cry”. I like this song very much and I think it has deeper meaning than we can first think. I consider that men’s life would be calmer if they didn’t have women in their lives but how unhappy they would be. They wouldn’t have a person who they could achieve such success for and feel so strong. It’s a woman who often makes a man to feel like he is the most valuable person in the world and only one who takes the right decisions. I think men would be very sad without us and only would drink, play and think about nothing. Thanks to women men always have a good topic for discussion and speak about women’s logic but they sometimes make absolutely illogical steps by themselves. J And how unhappy would be women without men!

Concept “Work”
Work is a word that we used to. But usually when we hear this word we remember only our workplace. May be because we spend a lot of time there and it brings us money to live on. Of course, it’s an important and huge part of our life. Actually we spend years at schools and universities to be prepared for this part of our life. But it isn’t all work we face in our life. The most significant part of the work is relations in the family. And the right way to achieve the best results in it is to be always prepared for gives and takes.
So, I wish all of us to do the brilliant work in all spheres of our life!

Ideas concerning “work and profession” concepts
Work and Profession
These two concepts are very similar. But sometimes our work mismatches our profession. Work is the important part of our life, and we have to make the right choice of profession in the childhood. And, when we chose the profession and received knowledge, we understood – that it had been a wrong choice. The ideal solution is when people like their profession and their work brings enjoyment. Our Work and Profession even have to bring enjoyment, because we spend the biggest part of a day at work.
Work gives us money for living. And we give work our power and skills.
As for me, FAMILY is more important than work. And we have to spend more time with our relatives. The shortage of time for communication with a family and friends is a result of hard work in our fast life.

Write a short essay on the topic: Your ideas concerning the expression “never judge a book by its cover” (is it possible to guess someone’s character, social background and lifestyle from the clothes that they wear? Can you give examples? Do you think you sometimes judge people by their appearance?)
When I saw the topic “never judge a book by its cover” I thought that I never judged people by his/her clothes. But two days later I had an opportunity to understand that clothes are one of the factors which help me to understand who the person is. It was a lunch time. my co-worker and Me went to the grocery store to buy something tasty and healthy J . Just near the entrance the man was lying, he was faint. His clothes and shoes were cheap, and he didn’t have socks. We know that the reputation of that store is not good because there are a lot of men who come there to drink as there are some tables where they can relax and get drunk.
There were a lot of people near the store and nobody was helping that man and even more all people who wanted to get into the grocery store had to go round the body. We also walked round him but tried to understand whether he was alive. His eyes were opened and his breathe was very hard.
We bought some stuff and were going to return to the office but we saw a picture that astonished us. The man was still lying near the entrance but now a dog was nearby. It was licking his face, ears and its eyes were so kind and loyal, it was trying to help him. The thought that there were a lot of people around and nobody wanted to help the man but the dog, made me think that people were worse than an animal. What if this man was not drunk and maybe he’s just a pensioner who didn’t have enough money. What if he was dying near the store just because he wore the cheap clothes and the store’s bad reputation. What if I happened to faint and to fall in the dirty pool would somebody help me? We called emergency.
After that I understood that I don’t have to lie to myself and think that I don’t judge people from the clothes they wear.
Anyway the clothes give me some information about the person for example I can find out if a person is stylish (by my opinion), what his or her treatment of clothes is (it can be dirty and rumpled or clean and neat), the color of clothes can tell something about the person who wears it. . Sometimes the quality of the clothes can tell about the person’s income but not always. I have seen very reach people who looked mostly like a homeless.
Looking at the clothes I can only guess who is inside but the most important is what is inside a soul

Write a short essay on the topic: Your ideas concerning the expression “never judge a book by its cover” (is it possible to guess someone’s character, social background and lifestyle from the clothes that they wear? Can you give examples? Do you think you sometimes judge people by their appearance?)
Tanya, when you gave us this task, I considered that to write something on the topic would be easy. It isn’t. There are a lot of lines for thinking. First of all this well-known interesting phenomenon of our country: we consider our clothes, cars, etc. to be as better and more expensive as we let us have and even more…. Actually there are several reasons. On the one hand we, ex-soviet inhabitants, grew up in the country of tight deficit and even some interesting details of clothes could give us so mush excitement, that now when we have received some variety and choice we are trying to compensate all sameness of our childhood. On the other hand after visiting different industrial, let’s say, civilized countries we’ve realized that their citizens are not so looped on such “material” things. For them a car is just a means of movement, not a question of status. But we have our own view, and may be it’s better to have it than just to copy or obey/follow somebody’s rules. Last weak I read an article about Yulia Timoshenko. The idea of discussion was her style of clothing: is it normal for woman-politician or not. And after reading I understood that like a wisdom man from one tale I wanted to say: “You are right” to both arguing parties: to the ones who admire Ms.Yu and tell that she is a role model for all women-politicians because first of all they are women and to the opponents who consider that the rules of decorum for politicians are very strict and the same for men and for women: only simple business suit and may be one or two small jewellery for woman, actually it could be called Condoleezza Rize’s style. Of course, it isn’t right to wear something very provocative to/ at work, but from the other point of view, if we spend the most part of our life at the working place, sometimes we want to be different and unusual.
Actually I have rather deviated from the topic. What would I like to say? Sometimes it’s possible to guess someone’s character, social background and lifestyle from the clothes that they wear, sometimes – not. It so individual and depends on mood of people (may be today they would like to play some role), depends on country customs (for example, some foreigners say that our girls and women wear such clothes that in their countries only prostitutes have such sort of closing and it’s like uniform for them).
So, the best decision is not to judge people by their appearance because so often people made/ (you meant – make) mistakes because of wrong thoughts and further wrong actions. And as a proof of my opinion I would like to represent you the following story. It could be the truth, could be a fable, but I like it very much.
Never Judge a Book by It's Cover
by source unknown
A lady in a gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston. They walked timidly without an appointment into the president of Harvard University's outer office.
The secretary determined in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge. She frowned.
"We want to see the president," the man said softly. "He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped. "We'll wait," the lady replied.
For hours, the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away. They didn't. The secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted to do.
"Maybe if they just see you for a few minutes, they'll leave," she told him.
The President sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, but he detested the thought of gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office.
The president, stern-faced with dignity, strutted toward the couple. The lady told him, "We had a son that attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus."
The president was not touched by her story, he was shocked. "Madam," he said gruffly. "We can't put up a statue for every student from Harvard who died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery."
"Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to erect a statute. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, then exclaimed. "A building? Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical plant at Harvard." He could get rid of them now.
And the lady turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a University? Why don't we just start our own?" Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford walked away, travelled to Palo Alto, California where they established the University that bears their name, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.
You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who can do nothing for them or to them.

Замечательная песня "Hotel California" by Eagles помогла вспомнить ребятам об их опыте пребывания в гостиницах...
I have never stayed in real hotels with receptionists, servants, maids, … But last September I was on my holiday in Sudak town and there I stayed at the place, which would be called B&B Hotel if guests could get free breakfast there.
In the end of last summer I decided to have a rest. My job was destroying, my labor agreement was not prolonged, and I decided to go to the Black Sea.
Through the Internet I found the hotel which was like B&B. On the 28-th of August I called by phone which was published on the site and reserved one single-room at the cost of 5$ per day.
I reserved the room from the 3-d to the 12-th of September.
On the 2-d of September at 13:07 o'clock I went to the train #205 in the line Kiev-Feodosia. The Trip by train took more than 18 hours. I came to Feodosia on the 3-d of September at 7 o'clock.
When we were dropping in Feodosia, the entourage began changing. Boundless Crimea's steppe became to change to luxuriant vegetation: cypresses, palms, cedars, platens. Lonely small houses were changed into great buildings. Flat country was changed into highlands. At the final of this train trip I saw building of Aivasovsky picture-gallery and the Black sea, which I hadn't seen since 1991. It was wonderful. I was very happy that day. When I came to Feodosia, I felt I came home.
After coming to Feodosia's station I had to go to the bus stop. I found out how I could transfer to the bus stop and came there. The journey from Fedosia's train station to the bus station did cost 90 kopecks by direct-taxi.
The journey from Feodosia's bus station to Sudak's bus station did cost 9 hrvvnas 48 kopecks.
***
During the transfer from Feodosia to Sudak I learnt that almost each private house in the Crimea's seacoast it's something like B&B hotel, but with different grade of service and with different service pack.
***
I came to Sudak at 10 o'clock.
After I had found the hotel I was settling myself, the owner showed me his hotel, his yard, which was buried in verdure, water-closets (there were 3 w. c.), showers (one - hot, two - sunny), a kitchen, and a dining room. Then he proposed me one of two free single-rooms. I chose the one. In my room there was one single-bed, one table, one chair, one mirror, one coat rack, chandelier. The room was decorated with very nice new wallpapers; the floor was tiled in the room. What was interesting , there was not any socket in the room. A Water closet, a shower, and a tap were in the yard. All sanitary engineering was new, clear and good made.
At the hotel a cook worked, but when I came there, the cook was going to finish her job, because she worked without holiday, without weekends and she decided to finish the season in early September.
But I caught last 2 days she worked. And I got 2 lunches and one breakfast. (One lunch did cost 20 hrvnas (4$), one breakfast did cost 10 hrivnias (2$). As for Sudak it was not so expensive, 'cause firstly it was very tasty and substantial, secondly each guest could ask an addition)
All seemed so wonderful, so beautiful. The Good weather, the warm sea, the hospitable owners.
But after a few days of living I learnt that the street which the hotel was located, was robbed a lot of times by some bandits. One time a robber got in the same yard and attacked a guest who went out to the water closet (it was at the night). Almost every night I woke up from dogs bay (barking). A lot of dogs in a lot of yards were baying. They were trying to attack robbers.
But it was not one trouble I had.
To be continued... Vovich

Firstly, it could be great decoration for your apartment (There are fifty-five volumes, all volumes have great design, each volume includes from three to six hundred pages).
Secondly, it includes a lot of knowledge of world history, a lot of smart ideas, conceptions, reflections.
Thirdly, it gives submission about the greatest man of all times - about Vladimir Lenin. He could pretend to be at the head of the list of great peoples like Alexander Macedonian, William the Conqueror, Vladimir the Saint, July Caesar, Peter I the Great, Charles the Great.
Vladimir Lenin wanted to dethrone Russian Emperor and Russian autocracy and he managed to do that. I could speak and write a lot of about Lenin.

Dear, Vitalik!!!!
Thank you for you proposal of marriage. I`m so sorry that I did`t come at our wedding. I want to explain you what happened. And you will excuse me...
I was very-very happy last week before our wedding. And I decided to celebrate this wonderful event with my friends. We met in the small pleasant cafe. All my friends were very glad, that we would marry. And each wanted to drink and to wish me happiness. And I drank and drank…. And when I opened my eyes the next day it was five p.m. My telephone was off and I was late. I didn't do anything. I cried, cried, cried. I was afraid, that you would get angry with me and I hided out from all.
But I believe that you love me and excuse me. And I promise you that I will not be late for our next wedding.

Dear Sasha!
Your invitation to travel to Greece together next weekend surprised me. ( I was surprised with your invitation to go to Greece together next weekend). I like Greece very much. By the way I went to Greece some years ago. It was a cruise about the Mediterranean Sea. There were very bright impressions after the cruise on the whole and after Greece in particular. I'd like to visit Greece again but, Sasha, I'm afraid it is impossible now. I am awfully sorry and I'll try to explain the cause.
Firstly, I haven't a foreign passport and I will not make it until Saturday. The other reason is that I am going to English lesson on Saturday and I wouldn't like to miss it. And at last, possibly (perhaps) I will have to go to work. I don't want but I have to. I hope you will understand that I really can't accept your invitation and therefore you will forgive me.
Besides I hope that one day we'll be able to visit Greece together when we (condition) have such chance again.
Yours,
Tatiana. Tatyana Starodubtseva

We have not seen each other for ages, during that time many interesting events happened, about which I want to tell you. I have a good idea to see you and to go to take a cup of coffee with you on Sunday. By the way I liked the film very much that you gave and I saw this film many times, but unfortunately I can't find where I put the film. I am so sorry, I am so confused lately, but I hope we'll have a cup of flavoured coffee in a cosy cafeteria and I shall redeem my fault.
